Black, Gold and a Splash of Color

"Esi wait I want to see them first, I'm so excited"
I really did not think I would be THAT excited to get back to this. It's been about FIVE months since I posted something and I wasn't really bothered by that. I think I needed the break to focus on work and school.

I can't promise I will be completely commit to this but I will definitely be on this a little more :)

HINT: I have been wearing a lot of men's clothes and I can't wait to share :)

For all of you Stuart Weitzman lovers, these Aldo boots look exactly like the Stuart Weitzman 5050 boot except more reasonably priced! Go get them quick they are going pretty fast.

Adios!...For now

Yours Truly,

Marcie

MoringaConnect

Over the past year, a friend of mine has been working on a social venture that helps farmers on the continent growing food on about a football field worth of land generate the income they need to improve the quality of their lives. These farmers make up 3/4 of the worlds poorest people and they've designed technologies and a process that can change that, starting with processing seeds from a miraculous tree called moringa. His team is in the IDEAS Competition and with your votes they could win $1500 toward their work this summer. Please check out their project, MoringaConnect, and vote for us:

1) Go to the MoringaConnect team profile: http://globalchallenge.mit.edu/teams/view/354
2) In the top right corner of the page, click login with MIT Certificate or register here (MIT IDEAS won't spam you)
3) Click Vote!
You have 3 votes so check out other projects and show them some love too.
4) Please like their facebook page and pub us on your timelines and in your networks! Voting closes on Monday so spread the word as much as you can for my team and I.

Today is the LAST day to vote so PLEASE vote for him. This is such an amazing project! :)
Good luck Kwami! :)

Chestnut Hill in the Blue Dress

Amazing Photos by Ramzi Yamusah! :) I'm completely in love with them

Fun in the "sun". It was cold, windy... and cold and I was wearing a thin blue dress (not the best combo). We made the most of it though. Special thanks to helper 1 and helper 2 (Marietta and Armstrong), they really held their through it. Thank you, thank you and thank you again.

Another collaboration with Ramzi and I must say he completely blew me away with the photos. I love all the pictures he sent, it was hard picking my favorite ones especially since all of them were AH-mazing! Looking forward to more collaborations for le blog! Check out his work at http://www.mr233gq.com/

About the look, it's a simple dress for s simple night out with the girls. I found those shoes at Steve Madden and for all of you obsessed with the CL Pigalle pump this is a REALLY good look alike. It's also pretty comfortable :)

The weekend is over but we have next weekend to look forward to...right? lol OH and don't forget to like my facebook page for blog updates just click here

HAPPY MONDAY

It's Spring?

I was having a bad hair day and didn't know what to do with it so I did everything with it. Plus, it was soooo windy ugh. Is this even Spring? geez!

 My pseudo spring break look. I'm acting like I'm going somewhere warm - my final destination this year is Minnesota...yup....Minnesota. I'm not complaining though because I get to see my ADORABLE nephew and my sister :D. The Bahamas can wait till another time.

Bright colors, geometric print and Black&white are trending this spring. OH and how could I forget strappy sandals

Anyhu, HAPPY HAPPY Spring Break to my fellow MIT-ers and to anyone who happens to have their spring break as late us ours.

HAPPY MONDAY

Yours Truly,

PS: I'm planning something big for one of my next posts so keep an eye out.

Baroque Me!

Two must-haves this season are Baroque prints and nude strappy sandals to compliment your spring/summer dresses.

In true Steve Madden style my nude shoes are a very good look-a-like for the Schutz spiked sandal heel which was priced at about $300. Steve Madden offers them for only a third of that price.

You can tone this look down some more by wearing silver or nude flats  or even adding gold accents instead of silver ones.

Two more weeks till it's officially spring! :D

HAPPY MONDAY!

Have an amazing week

Silver and Stripes

I chose to wear a skirt today (just for le shoot) as a kind of Spring preview. I changed in to black jeans after, with the same shoes and jewelry. This outfit could also be pair with flats for a more casual look. This Spring look out for black and white outfit combinations, black and white stripes (sometimes paired with a pop of color) as well as geometric looks and patterns. I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to some warmth and an opportunity to wear fewer layers. The weather in Boston has been pretty "ugh" lately. As you can tell from the gloominess of le photos, it was pretty "ugh" today and I think I might have rained/snowed a bit (after le shoot).

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind. School has kept me busy and away from le blog and it looks like that might not change. I definitely will not be posting weekly, perhaps every two or three weeks depending on my work load - I will not disappear, I promise :) I will also try to put up "Trends on a Budget" post soon as well as some of my favorite runway shows from the S/S 13 and F/W13 Fashion Weeks (Milan, Paris, London, etc). I am planning a Spring-esque post for next week though :) So keep an eye out!

Goodnight my lovelies.

HAPPY MONDAY!

Yours Truly,

Marcie

Nemo Found Us

In regards to the title of this post....I just had to. I really, honestly couldn't help it. I've been itching to use that since before the storm actually hit us. As a matter of fact, Nemo motivated me to do a post.

Cream (Off-White) vs Red

Contender #1

Contender #2

As I was going through my pictures, I realized 99% of them were side poses. I guess i got a little carried away trying to show off le boots...oops!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As some of you probably realized I haven't put up anything for well over a month - probably two months. I apologize for le absence and a simple explanation for this extra long hiatus is.......I am the laziest person in the whole wide world. I honestly spent most of my winter break catching up all my TV shows, sleeping, eating, and going to Tango class (which happens to be my new favorite thing). I was such a lazy bum. I spent most of my days in my pajamas with either a jar of Nutella or a box of Ferroro Rocher at my side. Anyway, school started last week and that got me out of that schlump. Well, then Nemo hit and provided that extra motivation/inspiration I needed to put up a new post.
Nemo was really mad that we lost him because he came and dumped over two feet of snow on Boston. It was pretty great because we got a snow day and since it was only the first week of school I didn't had anything to do except watch Spartacus all day (WATCH THAT SHOW!!). Personally, I'm not a big fan of snow or anything cold so when it was all over and the entire campus (even the President of the school) went to the snow ball fight (which apparently was epic) I stayed indoors watching Spartacus and reading short stories from the "Dubliners" by James Joyce.
Wow! I just read what I wrote....I really have no life. *SOBS*
On that note, I must return to my books but before I go, I will leave you with my favorite Tango video. Did I mention I'M IN LOVE WITH THE DANCE!! The best three hours of my week are when I'm in Tango class.
Have an amazing week!
Happy Valentines day (in advance)!! <3<3<3<3<3
